If you have not been yet, you need to go. This museum in incredible - there is something for everyone - the scientist, the historian, the art patron, the pop-culturalist, both young and old and in-between. Our entire family, from age 9-88, had a really great time here looking at the exhibits, seeing the demonstrations, and making our own glass creations (separate price for this, well worth it). Heck, every one of us could have spend an hour more in just the MASSIVE gift shop alone!! You'll absolutely want to spend two days here, but even if you only have a few hours, it's work it. Bonus about going two days is you can make your glass piece the first day, and pick it up the next. There seems to be a lot to do in the Corning area - next time, I think we might for for several days.

Thank you so much for your review! We agree that there are so many things here to explore, enjoy, and learn from, no matter the age or expertise. There are Make Your Own Glass projects available for all ages, including ornaments. Since Kids and Teens (17 and under) are always free, the value is great for families and the fun with glass is endless. We are centrally located in the Southern Tier of the Finger Lakes and are lucky to be an easy day trip to many cities. We look forward to your next visit!

We had no idea of what we were about to see here! We started out on the 2nd floor and saw long halls, high ceilings and very little in them. BUT then you walk around the corner and you are engulfed in room after room of amazing glass art, walking through a maze-like area with so much to hit all your senses. From one area to another, we were in awe of the wonderful artistry on display. The "35 centuries of glass" gallery was the best! So many pieces to see, so much history to read about. There is a demonstration of glass blowing and glass making that was really fun to watch. The store is very large! like WOW, and displays every possible type of gift you could imagine for yourself, family or friend! Our afternoon went by very quickly, this is easily a full day experience if you have the time. Don't miss it! This is a definite recommend!

Thanks for visiting and for leaving a review! The Museum strives to tell the story of glass in many ways from our galleries, the live demonstrations, and the hands-on interactive displays, and it sounds like that you really enjoyed all of those. There is a lot to explore so remember that your admission passes are valid for two consecutive days to allow you to see everything you'd like at your own pace. The Shops is actually one of the largest museum shops in the world, so it's great to hear that you were wowed by our selection of souvenirs. I'm glad that you'd recommend us to others and we hope that you think about us on your next trip!

This museum is amazing, very educational! Glass blowing, breakage of different glass types, fiber optics, communication - just to name a few areas of interest! Many hands-on displays and an option to participate in creating your own glass object! (I wish we had time to do that). Their shuttle service takes you to downtown Corning or to the Rockwell museum a few miles away. Highly recommend a visit to this place!

Thank you so much for your review and for visiting! It sounds like you truly took advantage of many aspects of our museum, including our Innovations Center where you can interact directly with glass technology and watch informational demonstrations on glass science, all of which is included in the cost of admission. As always, kids and teens 17 and under are always free. Keep us in mind for your next trip!
