Craft Beer Tour in Lower Downtown Denver

Overview
Get out into one of Denver's 300 days of sunshine and head to the Historical Lower Downtown (LoDo) District of Denver. Learn how beer has obtained such a strong foothold in our state and discover for yourself why Denver has earned for itself the nickname "Napa Valley of Craft Beer."  Tours last between 2-3 hours so prepare to hang out with a local beer aficionado and see if you have what it takes to stand up to our beer. During the 4 stops on our tour you will go behind the scenes to learn brewing process, visit a brewpub that began a nationwide franchise, drink in the brewery founded by the governor, and hang out in the best craft beer bar in Denver. Our tour guides drink with the best so ask them any questions you may have. All challenges accepted! Book now to secure your spot; if the tour is full please call our contact phone number to see if we can add you in. Don't miss out on Denver's gateway to craft beer!

We decided to offer the tour as an after-hours group activity for our convention. We reserved a private tour and signed up 25 people. The tour was great - well paced with a good mix of Denver history, education about beer-making, and plenty of time for chit-chat between the participants. Our tour guide (Steve) was very knowledgeable and cheerfully answered all of our crazy questions. I had been expecting very small samples of each beer. Instead we received at least an 8 ounce (often more) glass of each kind. Note that this is a WALKING tour of the microbreweries. One person had to drop out because it was too much for her. The total distance isn't that far (2 miles) and there is plenty of time to rest once you arrive at each location to enjoy the beers offered. And don't bring the kids - they won't even be allowed to enter some places. For a group - make sure you reconfirm the start time & location multiple times. We were told one thing in advance, and another the day of.

I went on a Friday afternoon Denver Microbrew Tour a few weeks ago. It was great! There were only 4 of us (compared to the weekend tours, in which there are 20-25 people) and we got lots of beer samples. Our guide, Derek, was entertaining and wealth of information about beer and Denver itself. Well worth the money and all the beer we had was tasty. Try the jalapeno beer!

The Denver Micro-brew Tour is a lot of fun even if you, like my wife, don't like beer. Our ebullient host, Derek, set the pace right from the start, first unifying our group with an attitude of enjoying each others company, and then with lively commentary and insights, not only on beer and ale but on Denver itself, and specifically on the charming microbreweries we visited and how they historically evolved at their locations. Fortunate to enjoy good weather (usually the case in Denver) we opted to walk the few blocks that otherwise may be covered by bus. This was more opportunity for Derek to regale us with humorous anecdotes on how certain streets got their names. For beer fans the tour was generous with a broad selection of beers and ales that by direct comparisons can give you a clear and strong idea of what your preferences are. Take the tour. You will learn a lot and have a good time, but beware of the brew that tastes like celery and cucumbers.
