Do you need a passport to do this tour? We would like to do the walking tour but one of us does not have a passport.

Yes, as a recommendation we recommend to have your passport, but if you are a US Citizen with a valid Driver License might work

Overall this was an acceptable experience. The guide that met us and took us to the border was a bit late and had nothing identifying them that they were part of the tour. I would suggest having something that would identify them like the actual tour guide in Mexico who had an ID badge and logo'd apparel. Having the initial person meeting us not "branded" was a little off-putting and did not put us at ease. As first time travelers to Mexico we were a little apprehensive and not having someone easily identifiable was not a good start to our tour. Once we actually got into Mexico and met our tour guide and were ushered through the city we were quite happy with and comfortable with our guide. A little more help at the shop we stopped at would have been helpful, were we getting ripped off (who knows?). Overall a nice outing.

This was out first visit to Mexico. Fernando was our guide. He made us feel safe and gave us an excellent one on one tour of the museum, the town and the markets. He then made sure we got safely back across the boarder.
