What To Expect

Coldwater Excursions

Take in the sights as you are guided down Holmes Creek to a beautiful fresh water spring, Cypress Springs, in a canoe, kayak, or on a stand up paddle board (SUP), depending upon your preference. Your guide will be with you for the entire trip to set up and demonstrate all of the gear and to help you maximize your experience at Cypress Spring. Discover the best way to snorkel with an underwater scooter; it does all the work of swimming for you so you can take in the beauty below the surface and snorkel effortlessly. Document your experience with a GoPro, with mounts to tackle every job you won't miss a moment. Relax in luxury and let us do all the heavy lifting, packing, and setting up for you. Fantastic experience for the whole family. Kids are ages 11 and 13. Everyone found something they loved. Our guide, Nick, was awesome and helped everyone have the best experience with all of the activities. Rope swing, underwater seadoo scooter, swimming to the bottom of the spring, swimming through a small cave, etc. We used mostly kayaks and my daughter chose to paddle board to the spring. It was an easy trip to/from the spring on whichever method of water travel you chose. This was a great break from the beach, it was beautiful and we would likely do the excursion again if we come back to the area. Just be prepared that the spring water is cold! The other family with us had younger kids and they all enjoyed it as well.

First time kayaking of any type for us. We had a tandem kayak. The trip downstream was easy (even for 2 overweight 50 and 55 year olds). We had a great time. Very knowledgeable staff made it easy for everyone. Once there you could sit the whole time in the chairs they provide or try your hand at paddleboarding, which I did, and found out it was fun. We would book this again if we ever come back to Panama City Beach.

Coldwater Excursions was a delight! Great guides who were very knowledgeable about the history and ecosystem in the area. They also provided everything you needed for the best experience including being genuinely engaged with the group. It was safe and never felt rushed. The water was something right out of a science fiction movie scene. It is a must see!
