Perhaps the genesis of Dallas as a small trading post in 1841 seems incredulous as one now looks on one of the most beautiful cities in the US. Dallas is indeed a city of international renown and boasts some marvelous landmarks. Guests to Dallas will want to give themselves plenty of time to take in the sights and sounds. Sights seen include: Founders Plaza, Old Red Court House, John Neely Bryan Cabin, JFK Memorial, Pioneer Plaza (largest bronze collection in the world), Dallas City Hall (designed by I.M. Pei), Thanks-Giving Square, First Baptist Dallas Fountain Plaza, Deep Ellum, The Wilson Block (historic neighborhood, Queen Anne/Victorian Style Houses), The Art District (the largest in the world!), Klyde Warren Park, The City of Highland Park (5th richest suburb in USA, home to many celebrities), Uptown the McKinney Avenue restaurant district, West End, Dealey Plaza (JFK assassination Point), and much more. Southfork Ranch Tour Texans have always believed that they live “larger-than-life,” and where else is that so clearly lived out than at the infamous Southfork Ranch? Make-believe, some say? Perhaps, yet for 13 years (356 episodes), this made-for-TV drama captured the imaginations of millions of people around the world. Additional items that are always of interest are: The prop gun used to frame the well-known question, “who shot JR?”; Lucy’s wedding dress; Video clips from many series’ episodes; and interviews conducted with “stars” of the show. From the Visitor’s Center, guests may take a train ride past the Ewing Oil Office to the Ewing mansion, visit J.R.’s bedroom, explore the grounds and shop at Lincoln’s and Longhorns, where Jock’s 1978 Lincoln automobile is on display. Also guests will be treated to “Dallas” inspired clothing along with a fine selection of cowboy hats.

Orlando did a great job with details about the show Dallas on the way to Southfork. Johnny led the afternoon part of the tour through Dallas and was fantastic. He answered all of our questions and gave insider tips on places to go in the city. I loved hearing his take on the JFK assassination. He was incredibly charming, friendly, and funny. I would definitely go on a tour with Johnny again! The confirmation could have been better with letting us know that this was actually 2 tours with a break in the middle and potentially a different guide for the second half. But all in all I had a great time.

We had a great day on this tour, our driver Orlando was fantastic as he made the tour memorable. His knowledge of Dallas and the history was brilliant, also his Dallas TV series knowledge made it a great day out. We visited Deep Ellum’s farmers market. Southfork was fabulous, we enjoyed our visit. It’s smaller than I imagined but TV makes it look bigger. They have a shop, you can have your photo taken and wear a Stetson hat just like JR Ewing. I actually think I look good in a Stetson. It’s an excellent tour we got to sit out on the patio just like the Ewing’s used to.

Had a fantastic time with Johnny on both tours. Didn't realise that there was so much to do in Big D. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to explore the city. We'll definitely be back and we'll be touring again with Johnny. Can't recommend highly enough. Superior knowledge of the city and lots of laughs made the day fly in. Just want to say thanks to Johnny for giving us all the advice on where to go in the city. Cheers from James & Linda.
