Five species of wild dolphins are also seen throughout the year, including mega-pods with up to 10,000 dolphins! Plus sea lions, marine birds, and even sharks. So impressed with Capt Dave's. While we were lucky to find and follow a Gray whale, the highlight of the day for our entire group was the pod of Pacific White Sided dolphins that followed and played along side the boat for at least 30 minutes. The crew is super friendly and made sure everyone had a good viewing point. The underwater viewing pod is available to one or 2 people at a time and just for a few minutes during the trip.

Crew was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable about what we could and did see. The captain of the boat is in contact with other boats on the water and knows where the whales and dolphins are and can get there quickly. The boats capacity being max'd at 49 was still roomy and comfortable. I know they don't have control over the weather, but it was so wonderful just getting out on the ocean with a beautiful blue sky. Capt Daves website's FAQ was extremely helpful with how to dress, prepare for a water adventure and what to expect with temperature and weather We followed a grey whale with in 15 minutes of getting out of the harbor and followed ended the day following another pod of 3 grey whales
