For over 20 years we have provided the most unique and eco-friendly dolphin and whale watching trips to view magnificent Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, and occasionally Orcas (Killer Whales), Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales, and more. Five species of wild dolphins are also seen throughout the year, including mega-pods with up to 10,000 dolphins! Plus sea lions, marine birds, and even sharks. You'll depart from Dana Point, home to one of the most diverse marine eco-systems in the world. Oh Wow!! Marie, David, Mike!! Fabulous!! They made sure we were happy, safe, comfortable and that we saw whales!! Four grays today! One even pooped! We were told that's a rare sight. We also saw Sea Lions sunning. We spent the entire time on whales as we decided not to worry about seeing dolphins. The boat was clean, comfortable and well-kept. Oh and, the triple fudge brownies were delicious! A tip is not required, but we were happy to show them our thanks for an absolutely wonderful day, and way, to check off a bucket list wish. Thanks to Captain Dave's!

2+ hour boat ride, very knowledgeable tour guide, learned many new facts about gray whales, reasonable prices, discounts for seniors, comfortable seating, concessions on board, friendly community. Highly recommend.

I’m glad you had a wonderful time on your recent dolphin and whale watching trip, viewing Gray Whales up close and enjoying the informative narration. At Capt. Dave’s we don’t sell concessions on board our unique catamaran Manute’a, but we have a variety of snacks, drinks, sandwiches, and more for sale at our check in area, and guests are also welcome to bring their own food or drinks on the boat. And while we don’t offer a senior discount, we always welcome back our returning guests with a special discount. We appreciate the recommendation, and hope you can come out for more fantastic whale and dolphin encounters soon!

My husband and I had a great trip whale watching with Captain Daniel and Captain Craig on Feb 12. What an amazing experience. We saw 4 grey whales and were in the center of a pod of 500 dolphins. It was so cool to see them jump and play near the boat. One tidbit is that they do a great photograph at the end with all the sea life you saw on your trip and a picture of you and your family.. Now that I know how hard it is to capture the perfect picture and how great their collection comes out - I would have enjoyed the trip more and not tried to grab that piccture. Plus the small fee goes towards charities. Boat was so comfortable and it was easy to move around. Captains were very friendly and knowledgeable. two people on our trip had done it before - I would agree - we will be back!
