A weekend trip to Hilton Head Island with my cousin netted us an amazing not-to-be missed day excursion to Daufuskie Island. Captain J.O. (who grew up on Daufuskie Island) was our guide for the day. Not only was he a fantastic boat captain he was full of stories of his experiences growing up on Daufuskie and included many of the historical highlights of the island. We enjoyed the simpleness of the laid back culture and meeting the local artisans. I am so intrigued that I havenā€™t stopped researching more about the island. Iā€™m looking forward to returning to Daufuskie Island next time with my husband. Beautiful Island with beautiful people. šŸ˜Š
