The carriage ride was a great way to see Charleston. Scott, our tour guide, had a love for his city and his horse, elmwood.. All 5 of us (kids 14,12, and 6y) enjoyed. I was concerned about the horses being treated humanely. I needn’t have worried. The barn was clean, they had misters and fans for the horses. Horses have temperature taken after each tour. It was sweet to watch Scott handle elmwood in a caring manner.

Our tour guide, Scott, and horse, Elwood, were wonderful. Scott was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.

Scott’s sincere love for Charleston and his portrayal of its history made our trip a real pleasure. He made the trip fun. We also really appreciated him telling us about his long history with Elwood, the wonderful Percheron who pulled our carriage and how well they take care of Elwood and all the horses. The tour was on time and the full promised hour. Well worth it. Scott and Elwood deserve 5 stars.
