The carriage ride was very informative. We loved seeing all the beautiful homes and we were fortunate to get the Rainbow Row route. It was our favorite event we chose in Charleston.

The tours are randomly assigned which part of the city they go to. We were driven by several of the churches and the really wealthy area of Charleston. Good info from the driver. She explained the fault line that Charleston sits on, the rising water levels, the sinking city, the hurricanes and high tide effects on the homes. Talked about the history of the area and the architecture. Went by the old prison - creepy! Came back by the shopping on King and the City Market. Recommended lunch place which was Henrys on the Market, very close to the carriages. Bar tender was fab and knew how to mix a drink. Burgers and fried green tomatoes were the best. Henrys owes Palmetto Carriage a big thanks. We also parked at Palmetto Carriage parking lot, a few blocks down. We didn't move our car afterwards; we just walked. It was all very doable.
