Enjoyed touring a little bit differently but our Guide, David, was very knowledgeable and entertaining all in one. Went the same day as our bus tour and it was nice to know that the facts did not change with the guide.

We were only in Charleston for a few hours so decided to do a carriage tour to cover more ground than on foot. Were planning on doing another company but when we parked the car it would of been $18 but was free if we did our tour using Palmetto so went for it. They were very friendly, on top of getting the group together and boarded with no problems. Tour was very informative on the area that was covered. My only negative was the tour was only 45 minutes, not an hour and did not go very far in any direction. Felt like there was more to see in Charleston and this was only a snapshot. Never been to Charleston before so all tours might be the same.

This is the third time we have taken a carriage tour of Charleston with the Palmetto Carriage Co. Each time we have been taken on a wonderful tour and none of the tours was of the same location (there are 5 different locations which are assigned to the carriage companies when you first embark). We had an excellent tour guide and learned even more history about this city! We visited in late January and were comfortable with the temperature outside. However, they did offer blankets to those guests who wanted to use them during the tour. You can tour their red barn and visit the horses and mules. They have a nice, clean waiting area and restrooms. We booked this tour ourselves and there was no conflict with our cruise time. Location is within walking distance from the cruiseport or you can take the free DASH bus system at the end of the cruiseport walkway!
