What To Expect

Charleston City Market

Our Barn is located just off of the Charleston City Market. You will meet your certified tour guide here and then you will depart on your hour long horse or mule drawn carriage tour. The carriage will go through the City gate at the market where the tour guide is assigned a tour route. You will see about 30 blocks of the historic district which will include beautiful architecture, churches, buildings, gardens and more. The tour returns to the Big Red Barn.

This is where you will meet your tour guide and your horse or mule drawn carriage.

We had a family tour 9 of us, 5 under 12, parents and grandparents. Dana was our driver, tour guide. She was so informative in a wonderfully casual and humorous way. She even interacted with the pedestrians which made it more fun! She really went out if her way for our family afterwards to talk family photos so we could all be in the pictures! We live in Summerville and had never done a carriage tour. Enjoyed it more than we expected! Realizing each tour does just a portion of the history if Charleston, it's now a ' MUST FOR US TO RETURN FOR ANOTHER TOUR! ( hopefully with Dana😉)

Very informative driver. The routes vary, I understand, but since this was my first visit, everything was new. My only regret was that while there is a photographer who offers to take a photo, she approached us so early the horse and cart wasn’t back yet. Would have preferred if she had advised us to wait so we could have had a more meaningful photo for $15.
