I would recommend Palmetto carriage ride among other carriage services since I was able to observe a couple of other services when I was inquiring about fees. I felt assured that Palmetto cares about the treatment of their horses. I choose the historic carriage ride in the morning. My guide Tom is a local who is funny with sharp wit and very knowledgable. But I felt he was too easily distracted by pedestrians and ongoing traffic. I would have preferred more focus on historic info next time. All in all, it was a good ride.

We thought this was going to be very "touristy" when we arrived to take the tour. However, we were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed it AND our guide was terrific. Very informative, interesting and funny

We were told a carriage ride was the best way to see Charleston, so we did. It does not disappoint and yes, it is the best way to see Charleston. I learned more in that hour then I expected to, plus, you get to see where you may want to walk to after instead of wandering aimlessly about. Our guide was amazing, I'm sorry I can't remember her name, but she has been doing tours for 30 years from the "Big Red Barn" I believe the value of the ride is very much worth it. Our carriage ride was a group ride with about 8 people, but was very comfortable anyway. Highly recommend this company to anyone and definitely the way to see historic Charleston.

Thank you for your review. I agree with you--the best way to see Charleston is by taking a carriage tour. The guide can not only give you the history of the city, but also give suggestions of where to go and what to do next. We appreciate you touring with Palmetto and we would love to see y'all again.
