Historically INACCURATE tour. The guide was a young male. He made jokes of the historical locations, (I guess) in an attempt to keep tourists upbeat. They are consciously misinforming tourists. They even go out their way to say that the slaves weren't sold at the market. Lies, lies, lies...sweeping the obvious under the rug to erase history and give a "feel-good comedy tour". Erasing history is very dangerous. If you decide to support revisionists companies such as this, be brave enough to swiftly ask...'exactly where were the enslaved that built this beautiful city sold?' They are taking you around the city, so they should be able to point the location out (since they deny it was at the Slave Market). My tour passed the Old Slave Mart Museum. Not one word of slavery was mentioned during the ENTIRE tour. Utter silence as we passed these historical sites. Don't forgot to look around the city for the slave auction blocks on the street corners (I'm confident that they won't make mention of them either). No matter your race, don't support revisionists businesses such as this if you are about truth. I'm from the area and brought a guest of mine (from out of the USA on this tour). She even realized how dismissive and disrespectful this guide was being towards this historical city. I'll never ride on this carriage tour again. In time, I hope more informed visitors to Charleston take note of this INTENTIONAL dismissal and stop supporting them.
