We had a great time on this tour. It was relaxing and a great way to learn more about the history and architecture of historical Charleston. The horses were so sweet and the tour guide was so respectful to them, which seems like a silly thing to appreciate but I did all the same.

Came here with my wife for the second time in 5 years and were shocked to see that the price had doubled, now $50 pp. To give credit where it is due, our carriage driver/guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, but the ride itself became frightening when a street gang on dirt bikes came screaming at us, head-on and at high speed, down a one way street. Everyone held their breath as if we were suddenly immersed in a scene from the dystopian movie Mad Max, expecting the horse to panic and toss the carriage on top of us. Plus, at times it was hard to hear the guide from the rear of the carriage. TIP: risk and high cost make this tour inappropriate for children. Recommend a walking tour instead.

Worthwhile early afternoon enjoying a horse carriage tour of Charleston.... guide was knowledgeable... she provided a non-stop historical backdrop to the route we were given by the lottery route system required by Charleston... the guide made some attempts to personalize the tour....a little pricey but definitely required for a first time visitor to Charleston...
