What To Expect

Charleston City Market

Our Barn is located just off of the Charleston City Market. You will meet your certified tour guide here and then you will depart on your hour long horse or mule drawn carriage tour. The carriage will go through the City gate at the market where the tour guide is assigned a tour route. You will see about 30 blocks of the historic district which will include beautiful architecture, churches, buildings, gardens and more. The tour returns to the Big Red Barn.

We had an awesome ride. Guide was great, enjoyed his sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable. Teddy, our horse was pretty awesome too!

Yogi and Boo Boo were great horses and our tour guide was fantastic. Having lived in the area for forever, Van (I believe) had a ton of knowledge of the area and added the extra flair of entertainment with the "Code Yellow" and "Code Brown" for the GPS locator (we had both on the tour). For a family with two kids (9 and 12) who are not super enthusiastic about history, the comedy kept them more interested in the overall experience. We got the green ball in the lottery, so my two dancers got to learn about how the Charleston dance came about. It was a great experience and fun to learn about the history of the city.

Inn Addition to the great views of the city and the historic buildings, the driver, Fox, was great.. knowledgeable and a great sense of humor added to the tour immensely,
