Before booking this tour, we researched several options to make sure we booked one that went to the monuments we most wanted to see. The FDR Memorial was an important stop for us because of our son's personal interest in World War II, and this was one of three tours that listed the FDR Memorial as a stop. Imagine our surprise when we got on the bus and the tour guide listed all of the stops and the FDR Memorial wasn't on the list. During our first stop at the US Capitol we asked the driver about it and he said the tour company had dropped the location because of poor lighting at the site. He had no explanation as to why the stop had not been removed from the website. As of today, four days after our tour, the stop is still listed. We ended up leaving the tour at a stop close to the FDR Memorial and competing the tour on foot. While there is lighting at the memorial's sight, light levels are low, but no more so than at the Vietnam Memorial, for instance. Also, when we left for the tour at 7:00 PM in midsummer it was still quite light out, and it seems like there was no reason this stop could not have been made earlier. More importantly, the website should be corrected to properly reflect the tour stops. We would have made a different choice of tour and been happier.

I am sorry you were disappointed by missing this attraction. We DO NOT, however, advertise that we go to FDR on this tour - our night tour. If you have any questions about your booking, please contact Viator customer support for assistance.

DC at night is spectacular. Have done it before but never in rain and lightning. Nevertheless we had a grand time. The plastic rain covers provided by the tour were a good addition. The fuse was very knowledgeable and made the trip worthwhile.
