Ok this was our first time visiting FL and we decided to do a 2 week tour around all of FL. Me, my wife and our 2 children. The day of our tour it was supposed to rain so we were sort of disappointed cause we thought the rain would ruin our tour. We arrived at the location and it was sprinkling on and off. We met our Captain, Vince and Tour Guide, Dakota. They assured us the rain would not affect our tour at all. They were excellent!! We were fortunate to have a small crew (our four and another three). We set off and were entertained by Dakota's humor. We were fortunate to find a manatee very quickly and got some great photos and video. We then took off and spotted another two and got to swim with them by ourselves. There were other companies touring the same waters so be prepared to see a lot of people. Vince and Dekota did their best to get us some privacy with the manatees. It was an experience we will not soon forget. Thank you so much!! Highly Recommend!!

Thank you so much for the awesome review! We had such a great time on the manatee tour with your family. They were really amazing in the water, and that makes all the difference in having a great experience. Although it involves just floating quietly, sometimes that can be a challenge when a huge marine mammal is swimming just a few feet away. It was great fun discussing your adventures and plans for seeing the rest of Florida and I hope that you all enjoyed seeing the many different and unique wonders that the state offers. Thank you again for choosing us at Crystal River Watersports and for the amazing review, we really appreciate it. Sandi

Captain Jim and Dakota were exceptional! While it can be a bit of a challenge to find manatees at this time of the year, we were able to have a private viewing away from the crazy crowds that were on the river over the weekend. As experienced divers, we also appreciated their "passive observation" approach for the safety of the manatees. Captain Jim and Dakota were very attentive, knowledgeable and personable, which made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us - these guys rock! :)

Thank you so much for the terrific review- we will make sure to let Jim and Dakota know that you enjoyed your tour. It is really important to us that we make sure that our guides, guests and entire tour are respectful of the manatees, and of our local eco-system. That is one of the reasons that we are one of only two companies who have earned the Save the Manatee Club's coveted Guardian Guide designation. As a part of that program, we make sure that we not only take people out to see the manatees, but we also educate them about these amazing creatures, the local history and ecology, and we also collect and donate money from our guests to support local ecological endeavors such as planting eel grass, waterway clean ups, sponsoring area youth to ecology summer camps, and other conservation efforts. Our staff trains several times a year in safety, first aid, manatee, bird and ecology education, and many volunteer for manatee rescues, health evaluations and other efforts to help protect our manatees and the local area. We are so happy that our efforts have paid off by providing a once in a lifetime experience for you- but you are always welcome to come back and see our lovable giants (and staff) again. Thanks, Sandi
