Denali Flyer Flightseeing Tour from Talkeetna

Overview
Talkeetna has skyscrapers of granite and ice instead of steel. Denali, Mt. Hunter and Mt. Foraker tower above the other peaks of the Alaska Range, forming our northern horizon. Cruise up the Kahiltna glacier, right over the climbers’ base camp at 7,200 ft., and wind between these giant peaks catching breathtaking views of Denali above and Denali's most popular climbing route, the West Buttress Route below.
• The mighty and stunning Kahiltna Glacier (2 miles wide and 45 miles long)
• West Ridge of Mount Hunter
• Beginning of the West Buttress Route, the most climbed route on Denali
• “The Great One”, Denali (20,320 ft.), Mt. Foraker (17,400 ft.) and Mt. Hunter (14,573 ft.)
• Mount Frances formally known as “Bergchen,” German slang for “Little mountain”
• The North Buttress of Mount Hunter  - a 4,000-foot granite technical showpiece and world class climbing objective

we booked this as part of our Princess land/sea tour (land portion). It was our first excursion and I was nervous about the small plane but it was wonderful. Our pilot gave a really great tour/explanation as we flew. I really learned the most from him than I did on any later excursions. We were lucky to have amazing clear views of Denali as we circled the summit. I also really enjoyed the flight back--the smaller mountains were beautiful as well and really varied.

We had an amazing time on the tour. Our pilot was great! She had vast knowledge of Denali and the surroundings. She was a excellent pilot and tour guide! If we ever make it back we will defiantly be taking the flight again!

The view is glorious and the landing on the glacier is something we truly were amazed by it. The pilot was very friendly and was able to tell you about the mountains with all their names. Our first fight was cancelled but they were able to work us in an available one. Everyone going that way should take one of these flights.
