Denali Flyer Flightseeing Tour from Talkeetna

Overview
Talkeetna has skyscrapers of granite and ice instead of steel. Denali, Mt. Hunter and Mt. Foraker tower above the other peaks of the Alaska Range, forming our northern horizon. Cruise up the Kahiltna glacier, right over the climbers’ base camp at 7,200 ft., and wind between these giant peaks catching breathtaking views of Denali above and Denali's most popular climbing route, the West Buttress Route below.
• The mighty and stunning Kahiltna Glacier (2 miles wide and 45 miles long)
• West Ridge of Mount Hunter
• Beginning of the West Buttress Route, the most climbed route on Denali
• “The Great One”, Denali (20,320 ft.), Mt. Foraker (17,400 ft.) and Mt. Hunter (14,573 ft.)
• Mount Frances formally known as “Bergchen,” German slang for “Little mountain”
• The North Buttress of Mount Hunter  - a 4,000-foot granite technical showpiece and world class climbing objective

Viewing Denali this way is just remarkable, no way to explain what you see except to say you just need to experience it, with the glacier landing. You will never forget it. I'm now rating the tour experience with K2. The office staff were friendly, and made sure all questions were answered before boarding. They were fully booked in the morning, if you go try an afternoon tour if you are able, most of the clouds will be burned away and your views will be incredible. The pilot and guide was patient with all of the questions and a fully loaded plane. His knowledge of landmarks and Denali were excellent, and he gave what I felt was a little extra in the way of making sure we were comfortable and safe. I would recommend them to anyone.

We decided to do this at the last minute through our cruise tour and we are so glad that we did! Pick up and registration was quick and efficient. We were boarding our plane before the boys even finished their game of cornhole! Our pilot, Craig, was fabulous. He was really knowledgeable about the geography and history of the area and passed on so much interesting information. We expected to simply fly over the mountains and glaciers but to our surprise and amazement, we flew much closer to the landscape. The views will forever be imprinted in our memories. We walked away feeling like we were able to view this mountain range is a special way. We are so glad we chose to do this!!

We arrived at McKinley resort and were greeted by an amazing sight of Denali with clear blue skies. So we took advantage of the opportunity to book a Denali flight experience with glacier landing. K2 was very accommodating and got us on an earlier flight than we booked. Dave, the pilot, was an excellent host and guide. Very informative commentary. The flight was amazing with panoramic views and close ups of the mountains and glaciers. We landed on a glacier and spent maybe 20 minutes taking in the incredible view. If you are lucky enough to have a clear day, then this is a MUST do!
