The tundra walk was the best part for me,loved the spongy feel and PJ showing us the various plants and uses. Then,when I realized I had left my phone in the jeep as we arrived back at our hotel @ 10:45 pm ,PJ ( our guide ) immediately said no problem , after she washed the jeeps, she would return it to the hotel. She returned it sometime in the wee hours so I would have it for early departure! You just cant beat that kind of service and caring!

We signed up for the early morning 4-hr Jeep excursion and so fun arriving at the launch site with so many colorful Jeep Wranglers. There were 4 of us and we easily fit in the 4-door Wrangler. Each Jeep was outfitted with a CB radio so we were able to communicate and/or hear our guides. Bailey & Miriam were outstanding and they easily and colorfully explained where we were, what we were seeing, and what to expect. They made the excursion so fun!! The downside was the mosquitoes which we fully understand they have no control over but we made few stops, we didn't see wildlife (again not their fault), and we returned the same road we traveled out in. The Jeeps were fun to drive, the guides were excellent, the views were unbelievable, however, the drive back was a little boring and my family fell asleep. I would still recommend this tour as you'll never terrain like this from the ice age but be prepared for a long trip. Enjoy!!

We were picked up at Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge by small shuttle bus. The drive out to headquarters where colorful Jeeps were parked took about 15 min. Our departure was delayed due to paperwork signing and waiting on a another shuttle bus to arrive. Our guides, Don & Miriam, led and followed the caravan of Jeep Wranglers along the partially paved and then gravel Denali Hwy. We saw Tundra swans, eagles, and an unplanned team of sled dogs with TV celebrity and Iditarod musher, Jessie Holmes. Our guides were informative, friendly, and followed safe driving speeds & procedures. We enjoyed two picture stops that included seeing the Alaska Range and walking on the spongy tundra. There was a quick outdoor restroom stop at a campsite. There were lots of mosquitos with standing water due to lots of rain. Be sure to dress for muddy conditions and rain. We enjoyed the personalized feel to this tour versus the Park bus experience. Although you are not off road, you feel you have ventured out into the wilderness with few others on the road. We felt safe with our guides knowing the area and ability to keep in touch with everyone by CB radio.
