This was our first time in the Denali area. We wanted an experience, but weren't keen on packing on one of the parks' buses. The Jeep Excursion was perfect for us - convoying with other adventure seekers; connected by a two-way radio system; and flanked by our expert, informative, funny guides made this a highlight of our trip in central Alaska. Austin had an eagle eye for wildlife and gave us the interesting story of the first climbers ascending the mountain. Tara related her amazing journey participating in last years' Iditerod. We highly recommend this trip.

My mom and I went on this Jeep Excursion while my teenager went on the ATV Tour. We went out caravan style (there were only 3 jeeps on our tour) which was perfect! Each jeep had a radio so everyone could hear what the guide was saying about the trail, nature, history, etc. We stopped a few times for photo opps and once for snacks and restroom break. Loved it!!

I would not recommend this excursion while you are in Denali. We thought this would be a tour that you would need a Jeep. Not once was the Jeep put in 4 wheel drive. We paced ourselves down a paved/gravel road. We didn't see any wildlife. I understand they can't always control what wildlife will show up, but once we left the Jeep tour and just drove around in our rental car we saw much more wildlife on our own on regular roads. One thing positive was our tour guide, Tara. She tried very hard to make the trip enjoyable with what she had to work with. Jeep Excursion was not worth our time or money.
