Exclusive access and rough terrain is listed in the brochure. These are both an outright fabrication. The drive is beautiful, but it is a drive you could do yourself with a guide book and a Honda civic. This road is a maintained Alaska highway that anyone can drive in any normal car. We saw several bicycles and regular cars on the road. NO NEED FOR A JEEP! NO NEED FOR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE! WE NEVER WENT OFF ROAD! CLEARLY A CASE OF LOCAL RIPPING OFF TOURISTS. We notified the owner and he seemed unconcerned as if he has heard this many times before.

A car is just a car, but Ann, Terry and the team provide much more. Local history, color and directions. They are unbelievably helpful. They seem to know everyone along the Parks Highway and can provide invaluable travel assistance, akin to your own guide. As an example, we arrived at the train station (on a bus from a lodge) earlier than expected. I called Ann and she dropped what she was doing to pick us up. Going back to Anchorage, Ann checked our bags onto the train. Did she know something special? She put them into a bin at a very out of the way part of the station and that bin was first off in Anchorage. If you need a car in Denali, this is the (only) place to go. If you do, tell Ann that "Phil Scones" recommended you. If you can, bring Ann 2 scones (preferably from Tonglen Lake Lodge). Blueberry is her favorite, but any scone will do.

We had a wonderful day on the Denali Jeep Excursions and our guide Jeff was "outstanding" ! There were only 2 jeeps plus the guide jeep and we had a great day! The skies were clear, the temperatures warm for early June and the views were spectacular! Jeff's enthusiasm was contagious and we all had a super day. Mount Denali was visible in all her glory and our pictures from the day are breathtaking! We are looking forward to seeing the pictures that Jeff took with his camera as he promised to email them to us!
