My boyfriend and I decided to go on the jeep tour, and were very impressed with the excursion! Our tour guide Jeff was very informative. He went out of his way to take great pictures of my boyfriend and I. This made our Alaska trip. Brand new jeeps + great tour guide! I recommend this, a must to do!!!

I debated between 3 and 4 stars but went with 4. Another couple drove and our guide was great. But, I had the mistaken idea that we would not follow a certain route and that they would go wherever they thought there might be wildlife. My mistake. The road was plenty bumpy (I even wondered if some spots were dug out more by hand). We didn't mind the bumps and the food was fine. Price was steep but all the excursions are overpriced. I still wonder about Taryn. She was going to sleep in the woods by herself and I don't know if I worry more about bears getting her or the poacher who illegally set up camp nearby. We almost took the ATV tour instead and are thankful we didn't because the dust was atrocious! At least we had the windows up. The last jeep in line could not hear our leader. It was memorable. We also took the expensive helicopter ride and they were warned to not "buzz" the wildlife so I wonder if other excursion are told to try to avoid wildlife as well. All in all, it was good.

My husband and I just returned from a 15 day land/sea cruise on Holland America. We purchased this excursion through them and were looking forward to some great scenery. The weather turned out to be horrible and we ended up spending 5 3/4 hrs driving the 135 miles and not being able to get out and take pictures or really see anything. I realize that the company can't control the weather, but I believe that a reputable company wouldn't take $169/person knowing that people couldn't see any scenery. Even if they would have given a partial refund, it would have seemed more reasonable. Our guide was actually the tour manager and lead guide and he made the comment on the way back that he felt sorry for the guide that was taking out the next group with the weather being this bad. In my opinion, he should have been feeling bad for the people who had booked this trip, maybe weeks in advance and were now wasting their money. I feel like they should cancel a trip, when it is clear that the people can't even get out of the jeeps to take any pictures. Also, on the way back, my husband and I lost sight of his jeep completely on the highway because he was going about 70 mph and we didn't feel comfortable driving that fast in the rain.
