The whole rafting experience was a blast, the rafting was exciting, the views were breathtaking, but the best part was definitely our guide. His name was Shion. From the moment we all got intro the raft Shion had an enthusiastic attitude and made everyone feel comfortable. Its not just rafting with Shion, he had so many cool tricks up his sleeve for when the water was flat so there was never a dull moment! We had the chance to swim certain rapids, jump off some small rocks, slide down natural water slide, and had a decent lunch too. This was not my first time rafting and I'd say this was my best experience. The Deschutes River is fun with exciting rapids (maybe not the most intense) but fun. We just did the day trip and we were glad we didn't bring anything accept a water bottle and a GoPro. It was nice not worrying about losing stuff, and you don't need much anyways.

Shion was extremely personable, funny and added maneuver's on the boat I've never even heard of, while staying safe. Shion went out of his way to take pictures for us along the trip, including at waterfalls, waterslides, and even while we were "surfing" the boat. We were able to cliff jump, swim down the river, and horseplay on the boat, which is something not all guides allow you to do. Well worth the money!

I did the full day trip on August 31st and I had a great time! Dan was our guide, he did an awesome job of keeping all the clients in the raft, but we did get wet! He also kept us entertained with stories and jokes. Lunch was awesome, I had two slices of the apple pie...so good! There are lots of choices of rafting companies, I'm glad I chose River Drifters.
