A fluke in their online system changed our tour date to a week after I booked it. Good thing I called them to confirm a few hours before the tour I booked, ‘cause our reservation was not in their books for that day (Friday 5PM). But they were able to reschedule us for the following day (Saturday 8AM) since we’re only there for the weekend...crisis averted. Our kids were excited to go off-roading in a Jeep and didn’t mind the rescheduled tour.
We checked in at the office the day of the tour. Reception was welcoming and accommodating, answered any questions we had. Our guide and my hubby installed our daughter’s car seat in the Jeep during prep. Few minutes after, we were ready to go! The kids had spent a few minutes visiting with their resident snakes, turtle and tarantula spider while our driver prepped.
They do give you a heads up that this is their most extreme tour offered and that “It’s gonna be very bumpy”. We were expecting it from the reviews and looking forward to the rough off-road ride. Our kids enjoyed the tour, elicited “whoas!”, “weees!”, “yahooos” and “rock and roll!” throughout the ride from both of them. We had to have 2 brief stops to adjust the car seat ‘coz it shifted...it was secure and no risk of falling off the whole time but it turned slightly with the bumps, hence the adjustments. For those of us without the car seat, we definitely held on and buckled up!
John, our guide, had a vast knowledge of the area, it’s history, surrounding wilderness, wildlife, flora, fauna and the local eats. He was very informative and engaging with kids. John gave us tips on local hiking trails that are suitable for the kids with magnificent views at the end.
Overall, we enjoyed our tour. Totally worth the time and money vested. We’ll likely book another tour with them when we revisit Sedona.
