A century ago, Howard Carter made the greatest archeological discovery of all time when he uncovered the lost tomb of Tutankhamun and its magnificent treasure trove. Celebrate this amazing find by exploring the immersive exhibition Discovering King Tut’s Tomb, now open at Luxor. Follow in Carter’s footsteps, peer through the wall of the antechamber, unlock the burial room, and come face-to-face with the mummy. Behold the artistry of the nested coffins and view Tut’s notorious death mask. Discover why the Egyptians used mummification as a way to preserve and honor their pharaoh leader. With the audio guide, guests can transport themselves back in time by hearing Howard’s own retelling of the moment he first set foot inside the tomb. Through virtual reality, guests can explore the rooms and artifacts themselves just as they were left over 3000 years ago. Light your torch, break the seal, defy the “mummy’s curse” and enter — if you dare.

We were the first “public” visitors to the Las Vegas King Tut exhibit 2022. Had to wait a few minutes as the crews finished up on last minute “things” to open the exhibit. Unlike the Van Gogh “immersion “ exhibit this was artifacts and video showing the history of the discovery and excavation of the tomb. If all videos were watched it is quite educational as it detailed the discovery and subsequent excavation. The exhibit can take as much time as you want to view the videos and the exhibits. I found it educational.

The hotel is one block from Las Vegas Boulevard, restaurant center. To our liking the hotel is too big, you have to line up for admission, which was 40 minutes. It does not include breakfast and when I ordered a fridge they charged it separately as the rooms do not have it. For us it was suffocating as no window can open. In short not the type of hotel we like.
