Distillery Tour

Overview
Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

The Tour of the distillery was excellent! We learned a lot and had a great time doing it! Will definitely recommend this experience to all of my friends!

We made Reservations for the 6:30pm tour, but grabbed a craft cocktail and small plate appetizers before. There was a couple groups there, but their social areas are so large, no one got into each other’s space. The movie before the tour and the tour were both very well done, and the after tasting was informative and a great way to sample Reiger products; worth the cost. Lucky to have a happenstance tour by Co-owner Andy Reiger of the Hey Hey Club in the basement before it opens Sept. 19th. He is so passionate about the biz and so excited to share all their future plans. Can’t wait to go back!

The tour was somewhat interesting- if you like looking at large distilling vats and equipment...The tour guide was fairly knowledgeable, though he couldn't answer all our questions. The best part was the tasting, at the end, and the free cocktail. We enjoyed visiting the large, airy lounge at the top of the building, and sliding down afterwards! It'll be fun to visit the Hey! Hey! Club when it opens, too. All in all, it's a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. Don't forget to wear close-toed shoes!
