Overview

Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

Made a last minute reservation for the tour - everyone was very accommodating from start to finish. Loved the tour and tour guide - informative and excellent history of the distillery and area! Also, went to the Monogram Lounge - great cocktails! In highly recommend!

J. Rieger & Co. makes Kansas City proud with their brand new distillery in the historic Heim Brewery's bottling house in the East Bottoms. This is a must-see for visitors to Kansas City, as well as a must-see for KC natives, like myself. The three-story building is architecturally stunning and includes a first level, comprehensive exhibit displaying the history of J. Rieger in Kansas City, a beautiful tasting room (with the best gin, vodka and whiskey in town), and a stunning lounge and bar area on the top floor...complete with a slide that you may use to travel down to the first level! Our tour guide was knowledgable and entertaining as she guided us through the distillery. Highly recommend the tour and/or stopping by for hand-crafted cocktails in the lounge.

Great tour for those interested in history of alcohol production in Kansas City, before and after prohibition. Interesting exhibit of pictures of history of the Rieger family's role in development of the liquor industry in Kansas City. Well informed guide provides a tour of distillery followed by samples of the product. Full service bar and snacks available on second floor
