Distillery Tour

Overview

Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

Delightful blend of KC history, the science of distilling spirits, and fun facts. The facility is beautiful, a fabulous restoration of a historic building. The history panels in the lobby are worth arriving a little early for your tour. The after tour tasting is to be savored, and more enlightening than you might expect. Allow extra time to enjoy cocktails and light food selections in the Monogram Lounge after the tour. Well worth the time and small cost.

The team at J. Rieger & Co. are the best. They fit my group of six in at the last minute. Our tour lasted about an hour. It was very informative, and JP took time to answer all our industry questions. I would highly recommend grabbing a specialty cocktail upstairs before starting the tour.

We did a tour/tasting on 7/26 and it was a fabulous experience! Small Rieger/KC history museum in lobby was really interesting and fun. Tour was great - although a bit hard to hear guide - a microphone would really help. Tasting was fantastic and trip down the slide after the tasting was priceless! Used our token for a free drink to try a Negroni which is now my new favorite drink. I highly recommend this experience. A real must exprience.
