Overview
Experience the thrill of riding in one of Alaska's oldest modes of transportation! The dogsled! Towns, villages and lifestyles were created using the traditional style dogs that you will meet while on your tour. Learn of the rich history of Chatanika from one of our guides while travelling through a beautiful boreal forest.
We only have 2 tour slots a day to give each group ample time. This is a small family run business and you will be greeted and guided by an owner the entire time here. We do accomidate families/large groups & single travelers! For group size requests over 6 guests please contact Howling Bay Kennel direct through their website.
Our weight limit per guest is 250lbs clothed. If you exceed the weight limit, but meet the physical requirements and can comfortably participate, we may be able to accomidate you as a single rider for a double booking fee. Kevin was so helpful and very warm and friendly. He made the experience so special for us and made us feel right at home. His wife was also super kind and efficient on the phone at getting us booked in. Their daughter is a little sweetheart too! He lent us fear and helped our daughter, who was a little shy, feel comfortable. Thank you so much!

Just last week my friend and I went with Howling Bay Kennels for, the first night we did Dog Sledding and Auroras and the 2nd night we just did the Aurora Tour. I must say that Kevin & Tabitha were fantastic, both nights we saw the auroras, the second night they were so bright and we got some awesome photos with our IPhone! While Kevin was getting the Dogs ready Tabitha was giving us the details about the sledding, thank goodness I didn’t fall off!šŸ˜„ it was so much fun and we look forwarded to going with them again! Thank you Kevin & Tabitha for making our vacation a great one!!!

I had had a terrible experience at another kennel and found Tabitha through Facebook, who offered us the opportunity to do the dogsledding tour before leaving Fairbanks. Not only she and Kevin were the sweetest ever and told us all about the dogs and this Alaska region, let us pet the puppies for a long time and gave the most wonderful ride with their dogs, it was great to see how much they truly care and love them. The tour is done in a stunning place and the dogs are the cutest! I don't have enough words to thank them for their kindness and generosity, we were upset to leave Alaska with our last experience not being a good one since the entire trip was such a blast, but Tabitha and Kevin just showed us what we knew already: how wonderful the people are here. ā˜ŗļø We are leaving Fairbanks with our hearts full of love and hope. I can't recommend them enough. ā¤ļø
