Overview
Beginning at the Bourse Building right across from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, plug into our multi-lingual headphone audio to discover the origins of America, where America’s Founding Fathers declared independence from England. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of such historic landmarks including the Christ Church Burial Grounds, Elfreth’s Alley, the Betsy Ross House, and Independence Hall.

As you head west, see the Friendship Gate in Chinatown, be amazed by the architecture of Philadelphia’s City Hall, and be sure to explore the various museums along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including the Barnes Foundation – known as the world’s largest collection of post-impressionistic art in the world. As you continue your journey, marvel at Philadelphia’s growing skyline and get a bird’s-eye view from atop the One Liberty Observation Deck. The guides are knowledge fun and interactive. There are many stops along the way. However, there is no schedule when the buses will return so you have to guess when the 45-60 minutes is up (because that’s how often they return) and they work with another bus hop off and on where you can jump on that one also. There’s no convenience of an app to check on bus locations. Guides are also unfamiliar with sight closings, So if you get off on a stop and the museum is closed you have to wait an hour to get back on. This happened to me 2x in one day. There’s quite a few museums that have variable hours and days that are closed. There are many areas that you can take pictures from the bus itself. Couldn’t go to the furthest point they advertise for because there wasn’t a van driver, because you’d have to convert from the bus. Tried to ride the bus in a full circle, and was made to get off at first stop and wait another hour because of guide breaks. This has so much potential to be great, but so inconvenient at the same time. Last bus leaves at 4pm. So you have 6 hours to ride and with wait up to an hour at each stop……. Not productive.

Tour guide was really great. The tour went very fast though. There’s not much time for you to take a picture. You gotta be very quick. It would be so much better to hear what the guide is saying and know exactly what you’re looking at. The getting on and off part was nice about the trip but you won’t know the exact time your bus is coming back. It’s just a roundabout time. We waited 45 mins for our bus to come and that was after walking for 15 mins. Big downfall for the tour. Overall great experience.

We loved Ernest, our tour guide. He was funny and very knowledgeable. We appreciated that he interacted with us. I was very disappointed that we were not told we could take either the red bus OR the big brown bus because we let a brown bus pass us by and ended up having to walk a mile to get to where we wanted to go.
