Overview
Beginning at the Bourse Building right across from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, plug into our multi-lingual headphone audio to discover the origins of America, where America’s Founding Fathers declared independence from England. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of such historic landmarks including the Christ Church Burial Grounds, Elfreth’s Alley, the Betsy Ross House, and Independence Hall.

As you head west, see the Friendship Gate in Chinatown, be amazed by the architecture of Philadelphia’s City Hall, and be sure to explore the various museums along Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including the Barnes Foundation – known as the world’s largest collection of post-impressionistic art in the world. As you continue your journey, marvel at Philadelphia’s growing skyline and get a bird’s-eye view from atop the One Liberty Observation Deck. We did the tour on a rainy summer day. The tour guide provided rain ponchos, and gave a great tour! We loved it, and would recommend that to others. However...we bought a two day ticket to do the hop-on, hop-off experience the next day. Bad move, the map shows the hop-on spots, yet they are not marked physically anywhere in the street, and map is not to scale. The bus passed us by a few times as we could not get near them to flag them down (they were driving regular speed, not sure they are looking for hop-on passengers). After waiting almost an hour we took a ride share. Total waste of our money for that part of the experience.

My husband & I wanted to take a bus tour of the city today for our first full day of our vacation here in Philly. We really enjoyed the tour overall, the guides were knowledgeable, friendly & entertaining. It’s a great way to see a lot of the city at once. Loved being able to sit on the top level. Unfortunately, when we were getting back onto one of the buses at a stop we had gotten off at, all of the seats on the top level were taken, so we had to sit on the bottom level with NO a/c whatsoever. We had to get off the bus before we arrived at the next stop we were planning to get off at because I was on the verge of passing out from the heat on that bottom level, and I am not exaggerating. PLEASE do something about that!! When you run buses like that on hot summer days, there’s no sense in not having some kind of even just minimal air flow on the bottom level.
