We ALWAYS take the hop on hop off tour in whatever city we visit and always found them excellent. Not so in Philadelphia. On first sight, all was well, we took our seats upstairs and headed off. However the tour guid was TERRIBLE. Her english was awful and we really could not understand anything she was saying. After approximately 5 minutes we decided to sit downstairs as firstly we were ducking overhanging branches, and we thought maybe the earphones would be a better option. So off we went downstairs. All the windows were covered in advertising decals, so there wasn't a hope of seeing out through them. How were customers expected to sit downstairs for the compelte journey? If the upstaris was full and there was no other option, why would you sit and not see the sights? Anyway we were then informed that the earphones etc downstairs didn't work. No apology, just that, they didn't work. No point in going back upstairs as we couldn't understand what the guid was saying. SO we got off the bus after 5 stops, a complete waste of money. I was so annoyed I didn't even wait for another bus. Certainly will think twice about using this service again, and it's an awful pity as we have had wonderful guides on previous journeys.

We had a great time. Hop on, hop off, hop back on. Knowledgeable staff and guide. Learned a lot. A very good way to see the city for a first time visit. 2 teens enjoyed traveling on top. I ran the Rocky Stairs!

I wish we’d been able to buy tickets earlier in the day, but getting on at 3 pm still wasn’t bad for $35. The process was fairly easy but the long wait we to hop back on at the Philadelphia art museum made us wary of hopping off, especially because we needed to return to our original spot. The GUIDES and driver were EXCELLENT, entertaining and adaptable.
