Overview

At Defiance Rafting, we expect our guides and their passengers to display perfect paddling form when rafting through the Class III–IV Shoshone Rapids. When they do, which is mostly all the time, we reward their excellence by letting them raft it again. When they don't, we punish them by making them redo it, which, oddly enough, they never seem too upset about.

Guide Ben was safety 1st and fun secondly, just what you want in white water rafting! Ben was thorough for commands to follow and funny stories during the four hours on river. His confident, casual and cheerful demeanor gave confidence to my family to have fun on the trip. BTW, Defiance does not charge for the gear/helmet...others do.

Had the pleasure of rafting the double Shashone yesterday. Every person at this operation was professional, knowledgeable, positive and FUN. Safety was held paramount while still being incredibly fun and adventurous. The views were amazing. We would absolutely do it again and would like to try a longer raft trip with them next time because we loved it so much and weren’t ready for it to be over! I should add— our guide, Colin, was incredible and we will absolutely request him when we come back. He was both calm and funny, safety focused but fun and took the effort to get to know us. We REALLY enjoyed him!
