Three of us went to the culinary food tour on Friday. We were welcomed by our tour guide and off we went. Even though I am from R.I., I truly enjoyed the history of the city Our first stop was Dune Brother's Seafood Shack and enjoyed a NE clam chowder and a clam cake (with clams that you could actually see). Next was Knead with artisan doughnuts. We had a glass of Kombucha in a place called Fully Rooted, then off to Ellie's Bistro for a wonderful bruschetta topped with grilled asparagus . Bread was all homemade. For the flavors of Greece we visited Yoleni's and had an appetizer platter of Greek delicacies. We also enjoyed craft beers with a made-from-scratch pretzel that was to die for. Ended our tour at Gracie's for a wonderful dessert. Needless to say, we were all very satisfied. Its a wonderful way to treat someone who is from another state but also fun to do with local friends.

Wonderful tour guide, Jenny...great restaurants...delicious food...would highly recommend! We took the tour on a rainy Friday but the weather took a back seat to the adventure of discovering downtown Providence.

My wife and I took the Downcity Food Tour last Friday, April 26th. We met at noon on a cold and wet day, but the tour guide and her "guide in training" did an amazing job to bouy our sprites and warm us up with a brisk walk between venues. Among my favs were the Chawda and Clam Cakes from Dune Brother's, the amazing donuts from Knead, and the fries from Friskie Fries. But then again you could not go wrong with the fare at Yolens's (Greek) and the Malted Barley (crafted beer and pretzels to die for). But the best was Gracie's where we had desert. We will be back to each of these venues for more in the future.
