Downtown Austin Sunset Kayak Tour with 1.5 Million Bats

Overview
Welcome to Austin's #1 Booked Experience.

This 2.5 hour kayaking trip through downtown is magical. We start by paddling the length of the Austin skyline during the golden hour, then stop to watch the sunset.

We then get into position for the best bat viewing and give a speech all about the bats just before they all fly out. We can usually time the bat flight perfectly so you have more time to explore the rest of the skyline.

On the way home, we encourage you to take your time and take a few breaks to watch the cities lights come to life when the skyscrapers turn on their lights.

The guys that took us out were very organized. The evening was cool and the waters still so the kayak ride was lovely. We saw bats but they were nothing like the images of the swarms that fly from under the bridge in Google pictures. Our guide had red lights to project under the bridge so we could see the bats flying. We had fun and it was an easy kayak but if you are expecting to see swarms of bats your fate will be with the bats. The company texted our meeting location so it was easy to find and the guide took pictures of just our group and the link was texted the next morning. So that was a nice plus.

Loved the kayaking, freedom to move without the group, the bat information, our guide and the city lights.

Viewing the bats from the boats is the only way to go! We viewed the bats from the bridge one night but it was a much more complete view from the water. They timed the trip perfectly to get the City skyline at sunset then the bats and the City lights on the return trip. Having a friendly and knowledgeable guide (Hannah) to talk about the bats made the experience that much more amazing. I wish I would have listened to the guide more and brought more water. I went with friends and family for my sister's birthday and it was definitely worth it.
