The 2.5-hour Downtown Charleston Culinary Tour visits four different food establishments and combines elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure! Learn about Charleston's history as you enjoy tastings of traditional favorites and contemporary innovations, all of which highlight the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants. Insight into Lowcountry cuisine accompanies the broad range of samples on your food tour. This is our original tour around the French Quarter and City Market and focuses on the traditional flavors of the region.

What To Expect

Charleston

After meeting your foodie guide at the first restaurant location in downtown Charleston, you will begin your walking tour and visit 3-4 restaurants, where you'll sample dishes at each, and then a final stop for dessert. Each visit lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be seated to rest your legs. For most people, the amount of food served is enough for a meal. As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. This wonderful experience will end within walking distance of your starting point. *Please advise about Allergies in the ( Special Requirements section) during check out! *Dietary restrictions need to be communicated at least 24 hours in advance to be accommodated *Unfortunately we can not accommodate Vegan, Dairy Free or Soy Free diets

This was a disappointing culinary food tour! The entire tour was a historical perspective of how slavery and and Indigenous people were persecuted in Charleston history. There were four stops with plenty of very good food. But most of the food had nothing to do with Charleston’s culinary history. If you want a history lesson in slavery and Indigenous people of America this is your tour.

This was a nice food tour and our tour guide, Butler, was awesome. She is very knowledgable, she kept the tour flowing and kept everyone in the group of 12 engaged. She is just a sweet person. We really enjoyed the food and it was a good variety. We would have liked to have gone to some older, established restaurants, instead of ones that were only open a year or two. Overall we went to 4 places and had a good and tasty time!

I visited Charleston during the September long weekend (2022) as an early 30s solo traveler from Ontario, Canada. This was a perfect tour! Dana, the tour guide, has a wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of downtown Charleston. She is also an excellent storyteller, and the entire tour was engaging and informative! Well selected menu. An opportunity to meet a diverse range of fellow tourists. Highly recommend this 5/5 experience ⭐
