The 2.5-hour Downtown Charleston Culinary Tour visits four different food establishments and combines elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure! Learn about Charleston's history as you enjoy tastings of traditional favorites and contemporary innovations, all of which highlight the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants. Insight into Lowcountry cuisine accompanies the broad range of samples on your food tour. This is our original tour around the French Quarter and City Market and focuses on the traditional flavors of the region.

What To Expect

Charleston

After meeting your foodie guide at the first restaurant location in downtown Charleston, you will begin your walking tour and visit 3-4 restaurants, where you'll sample dishes at each, and then a final stop for dessert. Each visit lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be seated to rest your legs. For most people, the amount of food served is enough for a meal. As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. This wonderful experience will end within walking distance of your starting point. *Please advise about Allergies in the ( Special Requirements section) during check out! *Dietary restrictions need to be communicated at least 24 hours in advance to be accommodated *Unfortunately we can not accommodate Vegan, Dairy Free or Soy Free diets

We took the Charleston Culinary tour last Monday during what I call a mini-hurricane! We still had a blast and our guide Dana was the best! All four restaurants were great and we learned a lot of history during our adventure. I highly recommend this tour if you are a foodie and new to Charleston.

Have done the upper king and kitchen tour so this time we did the lower king. A lot depends on your guide and Dana, while somewhat new she said, was excellent! She knew so much about the history of the city, the food, and also added some humor. It was pouring down rain and she had ponchos for everyone. It was a well-paced tour, not too far between stops but be careful about ordering drinks at the second or third stop (we went to 4). Many did not have time to finish them and pay the bill before having to leave for next stop. Great variety of food and you will not go home hungry, even if you didn't like a few! There were a few clunkers but one does get a taste of the south.

1. First time for our tour guide. No explanation of foods tasted. 2. Eli’s and Kaminski’s best food. The Craftsman and a forgettable other, were more interested in selling their liquor. Served mini appetizers that were mediocre at best. Had a salad with extra crab and a dozen oysters at the Oyster House for $43 with tax. Food tour at $60 was a waste of money.
