The 2.5-hour Downtown Charleston Culinary Tour visits four different food establishments and combines elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure! Learn about Charleston's history as you enjoy tastings of traditional favorites and contemporary innovations, all of which highlight the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants. Insight into Lowcountry cuisine accompanies the broad range of samples on your food tour. This is our original tour around the French Quarter and City Market and focuses on the traditional flavors of the region.

What To Expect

Charleston

After meeting your foodie guide at the first restaurant location in downtown Charleston, you will begin your walking tour and visit 3-4 restaurants, where you'll sample dishes at each, and then a final stop for dessert. Each visit lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be seated to rest your legs. For most people, the amount of food served is enough for a meal. As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. This wonderful experience will end within walking distance of your starting point. *Please advise about Allergies in the ( Special Requirements section) during check out! *Dietary restrictions need to be communicated at least 24 hours in advance to be accommodated *Unfortunately we can not accommodate Vegan, Dairy Free or Soy Free diets

Decided to try this culinary tour and it was fun and informative. The guide was knowledgeable and attentive. Spent a lot of time at the first stop which was a barbeque restaurant, tasty samples of several sides and barbequed meat. The next stop was a very quick walk through of a dessert place which provided cut up sandwiches to eat while walking to the next place, an oyster restaurant. The oyster bar seemed like a fun place, sampled hushpuppies, shrimp and grits and an oyster shooter. The last stop was Kaminskys which is a terrific dessert restaurant which delectable dessert and regular martinis. The guide was very good and the tour was fun, but for $120 (for two people) it would have been nice to squeeze in another stop (maybe spend less time at the first one?)? All said, I would recommend doing one of these if it fits into your schedule and budget.

Had a great tour stopping at several spots - BBQ, shrimp, oysters, dessert - all provided in a creative culinary experience. Top it off with a great tour by Patrick, who is a 5+ generation Charlestonian and it's a fabulous way to spend a few hours. I would highly recommend this tour for those who love great food mixed in with some history. Be forewarned - plenty of food - you'll be stuffed by the end of the tour!
