Glenn was the tour director and what knowledge he has of the culinary scene in Charleston. He added color to several restaurants and their chefs that we did not visit suggesting great coffee shops, dessert bars and more. Food portions were more than generous and we even had an extra stop for goodies - a shrimp corn dog. I tried things I would never have ordered on my own and was stuffed by the time we stopped for dessert of Toll House Cookie pie at Kaminsky's.

The Charleston Culinary Tour was wonderful and we were with a wonderful group family and our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun. I am not really a meat eater and we had several different types of foods to accommodate all kinds of palates so everyone got something they really liked. We didn't have to do a lot of walking, which concerned me, and it was a very fun evening. A great way to get to know the foodies of the city.

we have experienced other food tours that we really enjoyed viator and thought we'd like to do it in Charleston, too. We were disappointed in this one. We had a party of 9 family reunion group and there was one other couple with us. There were only four stops. We started at 3pm at HoM restaurant. It was SO LOUD we couldnt hear ourselves think!! I would have liked the restaurant folks to spend some time telling us about their story and the food itself, and more food unique to the area. The last stop was just for ice cream which felt almost like filler. We were looking for more local flair both on info and food. My favorite food was the cuban sandwich at Smoke BBQ and the chef did talk to us there. I guess it felt routine, and nothing special overall. Not great value for the 60 and since I convinced my family members to do, their disappointment was personal. It might have been nice to see some food prep?
