After meeting your foodie guide at the first restaurant location in downtown Charleston, you will begin your walking tour and visit 3-4 restaurants, where you'll sample dishes at each, and then a final stop for dessert. Each visit lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll be seated to rest your legs. For most people, the amount of food served is enough for a meal. As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. My wife and I took this tour as a ship excursion from the Norwegian Gem in early January 2022. Mimi was our lead tour guide and Guilds was the tour group overseer. Both guides incredibly knowledgeable and more than willing to share that knowledge freely as our tour group of 25 visitors wandered the sights, sites and tastes of Charleston. Unfortunately, we were not able to complete the tour and enjoy the promised sliders as my wife took ill and could no longer walk around the time we left the market and headed into our 4th stop at a candy store. Incredibly, Guilds broke away from the tour as we were visiting the candy store in small groups and returned with a pedal/cycle taxi which drove us directly back to the port and our ship. As I went to pay for this unexpected trip back to port, the driver informed us that the trip had already been paid for by Guilds! What a fantastic and memorable conclusion to a great tour even if it was cut short. Even though we only managed to attend the first 4 locations, both Mimi and especially Guilds made this an informative, educational and most memorable visit to Charleston. Thank you both, kindly for a most enjoyable introduction to southern hospitality!

We really enjoyed our guide John and his depth of knowledge about Charleston's history and food culture. First stop--Church and Union (Top Chef Jamie Lynch's restaurant) was my favorite for both Civil War history and appetizers. It was a small group experience (just 3 other couples who were super friendly and as eager to learn as we were), which enhanced the tour.

We took the tour with John as our guide. John was extremely knowledgeable about everything Charleston related. Not only did he give us a great background on the food we had, he also was able to provide interesting facts about the city as well. We were able to try food from four different places, and had our final dessert in the park. The tour was a very enjoyable and I would definitely tour with this company again!
