I didn't realize when booking the tour that the mix would be 70% jokes and 30% history - had I known that, I would have booked a different tour. Don't get me wrong: I like a good joke just as well as anyone else, but I was hoping for more historical depth. This is not a criticism of Ryan, either: as he mentioned in another review, he is paid to be entertaining and high energy. (And to be fair, I actually did get the impression he knew much more about the history of the area than he provided.) So while this tour is probably not for people who are interested in the history of the area, it would be great for those looking for something quirky and comedic.

Guide was energetic and knowledgeable. He tried to engage people to participate. He was also mindful of the heat and found shady spots to pause for commentary.

I have taken many walking tours of cities throughout the US and this was, by far, the worst. Generally, the tone is set by the guide and that spoke true for this tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable but spoke so rapidly and what seemed without ever taking a breath. His cadence gave me anxiety versus a relaxing walk around the city learning about its rich charm. Also, there was a couple who brought their dogs on the tour in 90 degree weather. My group and I were concerned the dogs would get heat exhaustion and couldn’t bear to watch. We chose to walk away after 50 minutes into the experience.

Well, I mean I wouldn’t take my dog out with a 100° heat index but to each his own. Not sure how that’s under my control. I’ll take some of the criticism on the high energy but I’ve been doing this tour for six years now and that’s the type of tour they pay me for. Sorry it wasn’t for you.
