An enlightening view of "Funk" in Santa Barbara. This is a winner! We visit Santa Barbara each year and have never experienced an introduction to a different side of the town until we found Savor. The guides were well versed and the entire tour was filled with different tastes from diverse places. Book it!!! It is more than worth it and it is FUN! Bob & Peg from Palm Desert

Having been to Santa Barbara many times while our daughter attended UCSB I was looking on line to see if there was some different types of things to do. I stumbled on Savor Santa Barbara Food Tour, read about it and thought it would be interesting, so I signed my husband and myself up to give it a try. The 3 1/2 hours flew by as we were either eating, drinking or walking around lower State Street (Funk Zone) learning about the architecture, the paseos, Santa Barbara's planning features, some of the city's history, and also about how each of the 7 eateries and spirits places came to be. All of the food places prepared fresh food when we arrived. The tour included not only the food but also any tipping that would arise. Our guide, Clare, ordered for us, helped serve in some places and shared stories about each stop. Clare, was very well informed, cheerful, friendly, and very personable. The food choices made for us were all wonderful and different, and everyone in the group loved the experience. Eat a very light breakfast as you will have a more than ample progressive type lunch. It is well worth your while if you are a tourist or a local. We would do it again! Marty and Linda from Campbell, CA

This was a Father's Day gift for my husband who is a foody. We love SB and wanted to do something different, so we spent June 15, 2014 on the tour. The 7 stops were all really great. The taco dish at Rudy's was the biggest we'd ever enjoyed in our 40+ years as Mexican food fans. Muy Bueno! The tapas, acai and granola berry bowl, wine tasting, beer sampling, ice cream and, my husband's fave... the lobster bisque capped with a light biscuit, were just AWESOME! Erin our guide was professional, knowledgeable and personally committed to leading us on an interesting, unique tour of Lower State Street and the "Funk Zone". The local history and architectural sites of the area helped round out the tour and make the time walking between eateries as pleasant as the food. One great thing about going on this tour was that we by-passed lines at all of these places, which, at some locations like the Brewhouse, were 40 people or more long. We ate so much in 3 hours that we didn't need to dine out that night. Advice: Keep breakfast light, because your lunch begins the tour and it is a lot of food (delicious!).The food and tour were a real class act at a bargain price. The cost even included the tips for the wine pourers, etc. We drove from San Luis Obispo County to SB, but for anyone living along the Coast, it might be fun to just take Amtrak's Surfliner Line into SB, since the tour begins about 1 block west of the train station, and ends near it as well. The walk is quite moderate, but wear comfortable walking shoes, and a hat or sunscreen if it is a typical beautiful day in Santa Barbara. Have fun! Thanks, Erin for a great tour and all around great experience!
