Hosted by a local expert, you will learn about the fascinating history, folklore, culture, famous founders & current residents, the food scene and current events. This is a great experience for locals, those that have recently relocated, tourists, corporate retreats, birthday & other celebrations and bachelorette parties!

Tour groups of 10 or more are considered private tours-please call for booking. Our restaurant partners need plenty of advance notice for reserving tables for large groups. We are happy to personally work out the details on these experiences for you!

The food was certainly a large part of the tour but we wished there had been more information about the history of the city and its inhabitants. Also wished there were more variety of foods - perhaps a type of soup or small sample of seafood common to the Sarasota area. We appreciated learning about the local restaurant scene but the names became overwhelming couldn’t really remember all of them, maybe send us an email with them listed instead. Our tour group was only us and another couple. The conversation was awkward many times as we didn’t have much in common with one another. Our Guide was friendly and kind, no complaints about her attentiveness.

Sherri, thank you for your feedback. Sarasota offers a variety of global foods, with many restaurants and countries represented in our local establishments. There is no food native to Sarasota so the 3 locally-owned restaurants & the dessert stop are a fabulous representation of what our incredible city offers for residents and visitors! You experienced organic, Mediterranean and the #1 Taqueira spot, along with an ice cream shop that sources from a local Amish creamery. Guests typically rave about the variety, & quantity of food for the ticket price. The other couple that was on your tour, have expressed how much they loved the tour last evening. Every one else was interacting with each other. The guide was kind enough to go back to a restaurant to retrieve a jacket that you have left behind, too. I hope you are able to explore some other restaurants that interested you, as well as spend some time this weekend, enjoying all of this incredible city offers: the farmers market tomorrow, the annual wine festival downtown, our award-winning beaches, the blues & BBQ festivals this weekend... we love our city and will continue to share the positive side of life here!

This was a really nice tour as my wife and I were able to enjoy some great food and learn about the history and culture behind Sarasota. Christine was awesome, she knew tons about the area and even several of the owners where we sampled some delicious foods. She got us in some really nice restaurants. I Highly recommend this tour!

A lot of food is offered. Some historical info shared. I wish one of the stops had a beverage included in the tour.

Hi, Susan! Thank you for your feedback and grateful to hear that you feel like plenty of food is provided along the tour route. Everyone is welcome to purchase their own drinks, as the description states. Beverages add substantially to the cost of the restaurant stops and we prefer to keep the ticket prices reasonable, to allow more people to participate in a tour. Taste of Downtown Sarasota is consistently ranked as one of the top things to do in the area. By allowing guests to purchase drinks separately, it provides more choice: some people choose to drink only water, some drink sodas/tea and others drink an alcoholic drink at each stop. Freedom of choice allows for people with different lifestyles and beverage preferences to all enjoy the experience together, for a relatively inexpensive evening out on the town!
