Early Myrtle Beach History and The WWII Years Trolley Tour

Overview
If you like history and want to know how Myrtle Beach was in the beginning and specifically during the years of the second world war, this trolley tour may interest you. It shares the city's origin story and tells what it was like to live there during WWII with U-boat threats off the coast and the arrival of German POWs. It makes stops at Myrtle Beach's first golf course, Pine Lakes International Country Club, and the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum. Guests gather in front of the Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common to begin boarding at 9:45 AM. The trolley is enclosed and climate-controlled. If you would like more of an introduction to the city's history, you may enjoy the Myrtle Beach History, Movies and Music trolley tour. Both tours were created to compliment each other in order to give guests a more comprehensive look at Myrtle Beach's past. GUESTS MUST BE AT LEAST 3 YEARS OLD FOR THIS TOUR. It is best that you book prior to the Monday before your desired tour.

The tour was excellent. Ms. Hedgepeth was very knowledgeable of her material. We are history lovers, and the tour gave us a greater awareness and an appreciation of the Myrtle Beach area. The only thing I would recommend is pictures of the WWII era. I would have loved to have seen those. We really enjoyed the School for Colored Children. Thank you so much!ā¤

It was a pleasure to have you aboard. On your next visit, please take the Myrtle Beach Military History Tour and Catered Reception. That one stops at a small military museum and has a slide presentation during the reception. Both have photos from the WWII era that you would enjoy. The tour and reception are held on select Fridays in the cooler months. March 5th's tour is the last one of this, its 4th, season and we will resume again in the fall. I am delighted to share history with history lovers. I still can't believe that you had just watched the very war movie the night before that depicts an exciting part of Myrtle Beach's history!
