What To Expect

Zion National Park

Come along with us and explore this historic area! This tour departs from Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort and travels in an off-road vehicle to the the location of the mine. This area is located just outside of Zion National Park and offers sweeping backcountry views of the Narrows, the West Temple, and other prominent National Park landmarks. After arriving at the trailhead, a short 1/4 mile hike past antique mine equipment leads to the mouth of the mine shaft. Enter if you are brave! A short walk into the cave reveals mine cart tracks and the remnants of the historic operation. Be aware that on the way back out, the hike can be quite steep for some travelers. A knowledgeable guide will lead the way and share intriguing information along with fun stories to enjoy. Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet and muddy.

They ran the tour even though I was the only person on it, which I appreciated. Grayson gave a great tour with lots of interesting information about the mine and the miners. It was fascinating to see the remains of this short lived venture so long ago and to think about those that worked in it. It was muddy inside but my shoes didn't get too muddy as you can kind of walk along the tracks on the floor, at least that was the case today. Great views during the drive out to the mine site as well.

Myles was a fantastic tour guide. We had a great trip with him. We did climbing on the Rockwall prior with him and then did the mine tour. Great information very friendly.
