Overview

Enjoy a one and a half hour South Padre Island Dolphin Watch aboard the newly renovated Murphy's Law and see Atlantic Bottle-nose Dolphins in their natural habitat. During the Eco Tour/Dolphin Watch, you will also have the opportunity to see local and migratory birds and various sea life. The guided tour will also include the southernmost U.S. Coast Guard Station, Boca Chica Beach, the current location of Space X, and the South Padre Island Jetties...entryway to the Brownsville Ship Channel where one of the largest Shrimp Fleet calls home.

Currently, there are no mask mandates or capacity limitations in place. You are welcome to wear a mask, but they are not required. We do make a practice of sanitizing the boat between trips, and our Captain and Crew frequently wash their hands.

I was traveling with 7 people in my party, ranging from 57 years to 2 years old. The ride lasts about 2 hours. it is larger group but it was no problem finding seating and shaded areas and we were free to roam around the boat as desired. The first hour was composed of mostly getting a little a ways from the dock and we briefly saw 3 dolphins total during our trip. The Eco Tour portion lasted 30 minutes max towards the end of our ride and was the highlight of the trip. They casted a net and pulled up difference samples of sea life to place in a water bin. The Captain then pulled them out one by one and passed them around or showed everyone and spoke about them. The Captain was Very Knowledgable, Interesting, Funny and witty and was willing to answer all our questions and kept my attention, as well as all the kids and adults on board I do wish he had a microphone of some sort since at times it was hard to hear him over the boat motor.

Took my wife and 3 year old son. We had a blast. The tour was really fun, and the crew was great. I'm not certain why, but my wife and I noticed that, if you purchase your tickets online through groupon (like we did) or even here on tripadvisor, you will pay $15 per ticket but when we arrived, the sign in front of the ticket booth says $10. Not a huge deal but I'm also not certain that we needed all the tickets we bought because the lady looking over our voucher made the comment that because our son was only 3, he didn't need to be on our ticket. (When we presented the voucher, she wrote on the ticket that their were only 2 passengers, not 3) I can't recommend the tour enough, but I would call first to see how many tickets you actually need and how much the tickets actually are (and consider just buying them at the booth).
