What To Expect

Pure Florida
The journey begins aboard the M/V Naples Explorer at Tin City which was originally a hub for fishing, clamming, and shellfish in the 1920s.  Today it is a thriving marketplace where you’ll find over 30 unique shops and restaurants. Once the captain has sounded the horn 4 times, it’s time to leave the dock.  As you begin the leisurely cruise down the Gordon River, past Crayton Cove, and through Naples Bay, you might think to yourself this is not an eco-tour because the river is lined with yacht clubs and exclusive communities like Port Royal where million dollar mansions are the norm. Even though it may seem like a tour of the rich and famous, there is plenty of dolphin activity for your viewing pleasure and it does not take long to get to where the magic of southwest Florida’s natural beauty thrives. Once you arrive to Keewaydin Island, take in a nature walk with your Captain, fill your shelling bag with beach treasures or take a moment to dip your toes in the water!  There are many ways to enjoy your time on the island.  While cruising, you will love moving freely throughout the boat to get the best view capturing memories that will last a lifetime!  A marine restroom is available on the M/V Naples Explorer.  Guests are welcome to bring their own small coolers with drinks and snacks.  This 3-hour experience will return you back to Tin City Waterside Shops where you can enjoy shopping in one of the 30 different unique shops or eating at one of the three delicious restaurants.  You can also walk to 5th Ave South, Naples most famous street, to enjoy more shopping or eating!

This was money well spent, took off on the 9am cruise with my wife and 7 year old. Captain Chris was great, very knowledgeable, and friendly making the cruise funny and relaxing. Henry was equally fun and made the trip very enjoyable for my daughter. If you want to see dolphins, eagles, and various birds and a possible Manatee, this is a trip for your family, it will not disappoint. Shelling was equally fun, the boat docks upon the shore, and it's 90 steps to the other side of the island which is clean and quiet, your own refuge from anything and anyone. The 3 hours is well spaced between the ride out and back with 1 hour to shell. There wasn't any pressure and plenty of time to find all sorts of shells. I would highly recommend this exursion to anyone visiting the area.

This was an awesome 3 hour tour, that was enhanced by an energetic young guide that was both factual and fun! His favorites being tales of the osprey to fun factoids and terms of other surroundings! Like my son visiting from IA said he “made” the trip👍So thanks to Saturday afternoons guide and assistant for a nice escape and for inviting all of Naples finest dolphins and pelicans we treasure!

We took our teens and their grandparents out for the Eco Tour. Captain Tyler and Brock made it fun and interesting, and we learned a lot about the mangrove forests and birds in the area. A sighting of two bald eagles was especially exciting. Keewaydin Island was a great place to look for shells -- the best shelling of our time in the area. Dolphins are never a guarantee, but they worked hard to find us some, and eventually we did. They came right up by the boat. Really a worthwhile and unique trip, with helpful and knowledgable guides.
