Overview
While Elvis Presley became the biggest name in music history and achieved worldwide fame and fortune, his roots in the Northeast Mississippi city of Tupelo were humble. Guests will experience the rural setting of Elvis' upbringing and see where it all began in the two-room house where the King of Rock ‘n' Roll was born on January 8, 1935, the church he attended in his youth, and see artifacts from his modest beginnings. Sit back and relax on a luxury motorcoach for this narrated 8-hour excursion departing every Friday from The Guest House at Graceland in Memphis to Tupelo, Mississippi.

I’ll start by saying I wasn’t an Elvis fan. I am now; as my visit to Graceland, which is a lot, lot more than the mansion, gave me an amazing insight into Elvis, his early year struggles and his super stardom. The house itself ‘is’ small by modern celeb standards, but it’s still amazing to see. Anywhere approaching busy periods / peak season don’t book your house tour for 9/30-12. It is bedlam. A shuttle takes you over from the complex and brings u back. 90 seconds drive. The complex itself, across EP Boulevard is astounding. Elvis the entertainer hall, which houses all of his stage costumes/belts/ gold discs/awards etc. EPs cars and bikes. His GI years; an Icons inspired by Elvis hall, his 2 private jets (the Lisa Marie)….. and more and more and more. Plus some great gift/souvenir shops. We spent 7 hours one day; and 6 hours a week later when we returned - and were just awe struck. If your an Elvis fan, you’re either gonna go or have been already. Non Elvis fans; just go. It is truly astounding to see. One of the best places we’ve been - and we are lucky enough to have been almost everywhere. The King; and after visiting Graceland’s, he was aptly named.
